New sniper rifle Descendant Hailey caught players’ attention after less than 5 seconds on screen during her reveal in the Season 1 Trailer.
The reveal of Hailey, the new Descendant NEXON promised has definitely got The First Descendant playerbase talking, and also respectfully suggesting the developer should open a bakery.
Hailey will be a brand new character arriving in the Season 1 Invasion Update of the First Descendant. She is a sniper Descendant whose name and theme were datamined back in June, however no artwork or descriptions were discovered.

Hailey made an unforgettable debut in the official trailer for Season 1 released on August 17. "No way she showin off smackin her cake like that within the first second of the trailer. These guys know their demographic," reads one of the top YouTube comments by TheChrisLouis.
"I can't seem to stop rewinding the first 5 seconds. Landscape is stunning," reads one of the top YouTube comments. What is unclear however, is whether Hailey is a Standard Descendant or an Ultimate Descendant.
Hailey new Descendant Abilities (What we know so far)
Outside of the inevitable rabid response to her physique, Hailey's design is an interesting one as she possesses her own unique Sniper Rifle weapon which we see her materialise in the Season 1 Trailer.
We also see her power up her Sniper Rifle and later get a glimpse of how it can double as a Laser Beam. This actually lines up with leaks via data mining for a character named Hailey shared on EUTOPIA's YouTube channel back on June 30, which hinted at a cold-themed sniper who could laser charge and beam.
According to the lore about Hailey shared by NEXON she has "'Supercooling Arche' abilities that enable her to drop her body temperature to extreme levels and fire Arche clusters instead of bullets.".
Interestingly following the leaks, The First Descendant fans were theorising that the "cold-themed sniper Hailey" could in fact be Dominique, a red-haired NPC you meet in the Corrupted Zone. This has now proven to be incorrect.
NEXON have not confirmed Hailey's abilities outside of the brief glimpses of her in the official trailer. We'll keep you posted when her active and passive abilities are confirmed.

"Eventually, Hailey was tested for an Arche Factor, and was found to have 'Supercooling Arche' abilities that enable her to drop her body temperature to extreme levels and fire Arche clusters instead of bullets. So, Hailey left the sniper squad that she had grown so fond of and officially became a Descendant. But even as a Descendant, Hailey vowed to keep the legend alive, still reciting the 33rd Sniper Squad's operational mantra."
When does new Descendant Hailey release?
Hailey will release on August 29, 2024 as part of the Season 1 Update: Invasion. It is the first Major content update for The First Descendant since the game's launch on July 2, 2024.
