G2 Esports vs. Sentinels is your Grand Final, with the VCT Americas Kickoff 2025 trophy on the line as we head into Masters Bangkok!

Rematch incoming. Sentinels vs. G2 Esports happened as the VCT Americas Kickoff 2025 Upper Final, and now it is your Grand Final series. Both teams are headed to Masters Bangkok, but seeding and coveted Championship Points are on the line.

With this now being a best-of-five series, the two squads will have to prove they have the endurance to hang. SEN is coming off a four-map win over MIBR, so momentum may be in their favor. But G2 got a day of rest and preparation. This should be a good one.

G2 Esports vs. Sentinels - Who will hoist the Kickoff trophy?

We've already touched on both teams in our live recap of the Upper Final contest. G2 is touted as perhaps the best VALORANT team in the world right now. This could easily solidify that, but we won't truly know until they take on the international stage at Masters Bangkok.

When it comes to Sentinels, coach Adam "kaplan" Kaplan says they showed more consistency and confidence on stage against MIBR than at all so far as a team. They're hoping to ride that wave into a Grand Final victory.

If SEN wins, it is a repeat of last year, where they also went on to win the first Masters event. G2 has been dominant, not giving up a single map. They'll look to lift their very first regional trophy after coming into VCT Americas through Ascension.

G2 Esports vs. Sentinels - VCT Americas Kickoff 2025 Grand Final recap

Read ahead as we brief you on how the series goes down, with us hitting the update button each half of a map.

Map 1: Split

G2 picked Split to start things off, with a near-mirror Agent selection. SEN managed to get the pistol round, however, as Zellsis clutched it, stood right up, and the crowd chanted his name. A 4K from valyn took the bonus to get on the board, but SEN's economy was sitting well to retaliate.

They'd keep the lead, though G2 stayed close with chaotic rounds going back and forth. A Thrifty would then propel them forward. SEN's defense held as they soon ensured a lead at halftime. A clean up round by N4RRATE and bang kept that lead strong.

The second half pistol ended with a johnqt 3K and SEN continued rolling. The next round was theirs as well, bringing SEN City to 11 rounds in the opening map of G2 Esports vs. Sentinels. G2 could not stop SEN on the bonus as N4RRATE shut them down and starting shooting bodies.

That put Sentinels at map point with 12 rounds. A scrappy round by G2 finally get them a fourth, but it only delayed the inevitable. Jawgemo tried to make a quick play on Zellsis. N4RRATE was there as backup, and that started what would be the final round of Split.

Map 2: Pearl

Pearl started off much better for G2 Esports. JonahP put up a 4K in the pistol round to make an early statement. G2 would convert their bonus with Jawgemo taking down three and leaf finishing the job. SEN adjusted well, though, not letting them pull away.

Soon enough, a big 4K by zekken and the Ace stolen by Zellsis put them ahead. G2 would even it up and a solid retake put them back in the lead. Then, of course, SEN tied it up for themselves, and it would remain tied as sides switched.

Much like the first half, G2 started strong and JonahP netted a multikill round to grab a short lead. They'd get three straight to make it 9:6. Soon enough, G2 were at double digits, looking ready to tie the series up at one map a piece.

A single kill from leaf onto zekken was enough for SEN to call for a four-man save. That took G2 to 11 rounds. SEN would hang on for a bit longer with a massive Red Bull Clutch from zekken. G2 wasn't going to let them catch up, however, hitting map point and taking the entire thing soon after.

Map 3: Abyss

There will be no sweep here as we move to Abyss. G2 picked up the first couple of rounds, with trent snagging three in the second. SEN would take the bonus, though, to keep it close early. And boom, they tied it. A 3K by bang and a 3K by leaf went to the latter as he stuck the defuse.

SEN kept pulling ahead as zekken got a 4K and leaf denied him the Ace by jumping off the map. They would not get too far ahead. G2 Esports put up a fight and kept things close, as trent snagged a 3K and JonahP ensured bang did not get an Ace.

Give zekken another 3K to grab the pistol and start the second half on the right foot. The next round went incredibly fast and got SEN to nine. And although G2 would take a couple of rounds, SEN hit back to reach double digits.

In a round that should have gone to SEN, trent stepped up and a crazy clutch got his team back into it for a little while. The defense of Sentinels was just too strong to overcome. Their positioning and ability to retake sites pushed them across the finish line to take a map lead in this G2 vs. Sentinels Grand Final.

Map 4: Fracture

G2 opened up Fracture with a Flawless pistol round. They'd take the next, but were unable to convert the bonus as SEN only dropped one player in it. It didn't garner any momentum, however, as G2 took their round right back.

They'd prevent retake after retake to go up 5:1 early on in this fourth map. SEN would finally stop the bleeding for just a moment as johnqt quickly took down three. G2 would fight hard to have a nice lead at the half, but SEN made sure to get their rounds.

It started with Jawgemo getting a stalled out Ace on the pistol round, potentially ending things right then and there. A Flawless round followed to get them to 10. The 11th round quickly came and they looked to punch their ticket to Map 5.

On a killer flank by trent, he took down three and G2 had no problem reaching map point. SEN would get another, but G2 quickly put them away in the next round. A retake of the site shut down any chances of a comeback and off to Haven we go.

Map 5: Haven

The pistol round was the slowest one we saw all day. Eventually, it went in favor of G2. They kept it rolling through the bonus. It was not looking good for SEN as G2 just remained a step ahead every single round they played, until SEN finally took their first with some Ultimate usage.

That looked to be all they'd get, though. G2 was dismantling Sentinels with no signs of stopping. Thankfully for SEN, a much-needed timeout gave them a second much-needed round. A big 3K by trent promised a halftime lead with plenty of rounds to go.

G2 made it look easy in the first half, and in the second, they looked to win their first regional VCT event. A 4K from JonahP in the pistol round should have been the nail in coffin. They'd quickly get to 11, but SEN fought back valiantly.

SEN would get to eight, but a valyn 3K finally shut them down. That brought G2 to map and series point with 12 rounds on Haven. SEN had to be perfect to stay alive here and bring it to OT, but it would not happen and G2 are your winners.

Congratulations to G2 for winning the VCT Americas Kickoff 2025!
