The Year of the Snake bundle, Helix, is out on VALORANT, but many players are not happy about the flex item’s price.

In celebration of the Year of the Snake, VALORANT released a new bundle in a green color palette and snake effects. However, the Helix flex item price, the most recent item type, garnered some negative attention to the bundle.

Helix bundle price

The Helix bundle, available in the game store since Jan. 24, has a total cost of 6,940 VALORANT points. This is around $70 to get the whole collection with a card, spray, flex item, phantom, specter, daggers, and buddy. As usual, you can get the items separately if you wish to do so.

However, it was the flex item price that shocked players. A flex item is an object your character holds that gives you some personality during a game. It's important to understand that a flex item does not affect your gameplay. It's only cosmetic.

Flex item price

The flex item costs 1,375 VALORANT points. To give you something to compare this with, this item costs only 400 fewer points than the Phantom — which is insane. For many players, the flex item "is too overpriced" for something that should be "somewhere between the gun buddie and spray price."

Other players commented on X about how Riot Games is not prioritizing players' concerns and wishes like the replay system, newly ranked rewards, and honor systems. On the other side, many people complained about the impossibility of previewing the Helix flex before buying it. As you can see from our screenshot above, there's no option see how the flex looks like in a match. This is unlike other cosmetics. For example, below are our screenshots of the Helix spectre.

Overall, the reaction on social media hasn't been very good. People admit the bundle looks cool, but the price for the flex is too much for that type of item. For a while now, many people have been complaining about "bundle inflation" since the release of the game in 2020.

That's all for now. Stick around for more VALORANT news and updates on esports.gg.
