On Day 2, PRX showed up in full force, sweeping G2 Esports. Team Liquid brought their European firepower to dismantle T1.

On the second day of VALORANT Masters Santiago, fans were treated to two thrilling matchups. While Paper Rex (PRX) delivered a surprisingly quick series against G2 Esports, Team Liquid proved to everyone their are stronger than ever.

G2 Esports can't beat PRX

We know that Paper Rex is no ordinary team. Their entire philosophy reshapes how VALORANT can be played, introducing a calculated chaos that overwhelms their opponents. Their aggression and tempo have redefined the game at the highest level. Meanwhile, G2 Esports remains known for its regional firepower, yet consistently struggles to translate that same strength onto the international stage.

Once again, against PRX, G2 were unable to deliver their best performance and fell in a decisive 2–0 defeat. Jason "f0rsakeN" Susanto showcased one of his strongest performances. Paper Rex secured a confident and largely uncontested victory, continuing their run in the Upper Bracket.

Before the game, f0rsakeN brought fans one of the most iconic moments of the tournament already. When questioned about playing against G2 Andrej "babybay" Francisty, he answered: "Who is babybay?" His response sent fans into a frenzy outside the arena, and that confidence was carried into the server, where it translated into a dominant performance.

March 1 was undoubtedly f0rsakeN’s day. Not only did he deliver a standout performance, but he also expanded his agent pool by debuting Viper at the Tier 1 level for the very first time. With that pick, he became the only player to have played every agent in the game in Tier 1, except for Gekko.

However, with Gekko recently receiving buffs, the door is now open for f0rsakeN to potentially add the last agent to his ever-growing arsenal as the tournament unfolds.

On the other side, this marked the 13th international appearance for both f0rsakeN and Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee, the highest number of international appearances among VCT Pacific players. This statistic has cemented their legacy as two of the region’s most experienced competitors on the global stage.

Are you sleeping on Team Liquid?

For quite some time, Team Liquid has not been a big threat internationally. However, many have underestimated the true firepower of the current European roster. T1 was the first team to be punished by this refreshed team.

In the Day 2 trailer, TL Wayne "wayne" Chang shared how lucky he felt to be chosen by Team Liquid and how he works every day to prove his value. On the other side, Ayaz "nAts" Akhmetshin talked about how wayne remembered him when he was 18 and described him as a very hardworking teammate. “I need to be a leader and mentor for him,” he said.

Against T1, Team Liquid managed to decode their strategy and heavily invested in a near-perfect anti-strat that completely dismantled T1’s approach. The game was all about a cold Team Liquid that found its way to counter T1’s signature aggression.

While T1 still brought some interesting clutches, that was not enough to secure a victory in the series. Even with an advantage on the second map, T1 couldn't end the map and take the series to a third match. Team Liquid advances in the Upper Bracket.
