Shroud, one of the biggest FPS Twitch streamers, has weighed in on his thoughts as to where Neon, Valorant’s newest Agent will fit in the meta.

Valorant's newest agent Neon has hit the PBE servers in the game already, and folks are lining up to give their opinion on whether or not she will break the game's meta. Of course, this kit has drawn the attention of Michael Grzesiek, better known as former CS:GO pro Shroud and now full-time streamer.

As someone with so much professional experience in FPS titles, his opinion is held in high regard. As a new duelist, Riot has been keen to give Jett some competition as a must-pick. Her kit, which focuses on electric shots on her ult, and a few movement abilities, can be seen as similar.

What did Shroud think of Neon?

"This character's going to be crazy. It's going to be really fun to play, and kind of annoying to play against because they're so fast."

What impact will Neon have on the Valorant meta?

On the subject of whether or not Neon will make it into professional matches, Shroud wasn't as sure.

"This is definitely going to be a PUG kind of character. You go into a ranked match and say 'I'm gonna play Neon.' But will it be picked in matches? Probably not - but who knows. Maybe."

The Valorant meta is already pretty crowded when it comes to duelists. Aside from Jett, who is considered a must-pick with the OP at present, there is Phoenix, Raze, Reyna, and Yoru. While the latter four don't see quite as much play, they do see the odd pick here and there. With both Jett and Neon though, it seems like teams can stack for movement abilities quite a bit, as well as an ultimate that can count for more than one kill. Jett with her knives, and Neon with her Overdrive.

Neon's kit

In case you missed it, here's a brief summary of Neon's kit.

E — HIGH GEAR
Instantly channel Neon’s power for increased speed. When charged, use Alt-Fire to trigger an electric slide. Slide charge resets after two kills.

Q — RELAY BOLT
Instantly throw an energy bolt that bounces once. Upon hitting each surface, the bolt electrifies the ground below with a concussive blast.

C — FAST LANE
Fire two energy lines forward on the ground that extends a short distance or until they hit a surface. The lines rise into walls of static electricity that block vision and damage enemies passing through them.

X — OVERDRIVE
Unleash Neon’s full power and speed for a short duration. Fire to channel the power into deadly a lightning beam with high movement accuracy. The duration resets on each kill.
