After five years competing in VALORANT, North American organization TSM has announced its departure from the scene.
TSM was one of the first North American organizations to enter the VALORANT competitive scene back in 2020. Five years later, the organization has announced its departure from the scene after falling short of securing promotion to Tier 1, following a decisive loss to ENVY.
The 2024 comeback
The 2024 VALORANT roster announcement appeared to be the solution to TSM's issues, as their results had not aligned with the team's goals. The black and white team had been far from first place since winning the North America Stage 3 Challengers 2 in 2021. After three years of titles, TSM remodeled the team and announced a fresh new roster. This was the second team rebuild, after the first one back in 2022.
In 2024, the team placed 6th in VCT Ascension Americas, missing their chance to reach Tier 1. The following year, however, things began to look more promising. With several victories in smaller tournaments and an impressive run in VCT Ascension Americas 2025, it seemed like their long-awaited breakthrough was finally within reach. But in the Grand Finals, their last opportunity, they fell short against ENVY, losing the series 1–3.
TSM says goodbye to VALORANT
On Nov. 3, TSM said goodbye to the VALORANT roster. "Throughout the last three years, we have continuously navigated the Challengers circuit in the hope of finally reaching Tier 1. We improved gradually, year over year, culminating in an Ascension Grand Finals berth in 2025," the team wrote on X. "Now, after half a decade in VALORANT, we plan on exiting the space with no immediate return in sight."
With this sad announcement, the players will be free agents in the market and are looking for new opportunities out there. We wish nothing but the best to all the TSM players and staff.
