VCT Game Changers Championship 2023 peaked at nearly 300k viewers

With record-breaking performances in the game, we also saw records broken in terms of viewership. The VCT Game Changers Championship 2023 is the most-watched VALORANT tournament for women and marginalized genders. The Game Changers Grand Final between Shopify Rebellion and Team Liquid reached almost 300,000 viewers.

According to Esports Charts, the VCT Game Changers Championship 2023 saw a peak of 293,993. This comes with over 140 different channels broadcasting it in some form. That includes the official VALORANT channels and co-streams, such as Tarik and Kyedae.

That makes it the highest viewership for a VALORANT tournament for women and marginalized genders. The 2022 championship event peaked at 239,334. The Shopify Rebellion and Team Liquid contest blew that away by over 50,000.

In addition to the total number of Game Changers viewers, Esports Charts reports several other key metric improvements. Compared to 2022, the 2023 tournament saw nearly 200,000 more hours watched and 10,000 more average viewers with two-and-a-half hours of less airtime.

After peaking at nearly 300,000 viewers, the VCT Game Changers Championship 2023 immediately cemented its place in the record books. At the time of the tournament ending, it became the third most-watched women's esports tournament in history.

It falls behind two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournaments, with the highest reaching 1.36 million viewers in May 2023. The event overtook the 2022 Game Changers Championship for third-place after the epic finale between SR and TL.

It's also important to note that women's tournaments are extremely prevalent in VALORANT. At the time of writing, the top ten most-viewed are exclusively Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and VALORANT tournaments.
