VCT Game Changers is officially going global. Riot Games has announced it will host the first-ever Game Changers Championship in November 2022 on LAN. The global tournament will feature the best Game Changer teams from across the globe in Berlin.
Only eight teams will compete at this event in Berlin which is a spotlight on women and marginalized communities’ participation in Valorant esports.
When does the VCT Game Changers Championship take place?
The VCT Game Changers Championship will take place from November 15-20, 2022. The tournament will take place on LAN and feature the best teams in action. So far we know that the teams will participate in a double elimination bracket.
The global championship will see teams from six different regions. Riot has revealed the slots for each region, which depends on the region’s competitiveness and the player population.
North America and EMEA have two slots each while APAC, East Asia, LATAM and Brazil have one slots each.
VCT Game Changers is a new program which will supplement the competitive season by creating new opportunities and exposure for women within VALORANT esports. The competitive VALORANT community is both diverse and incredibly global, and our esport should reflect that fact. Through Game Changers, we hope to build towards a VALORANT Champions Tour that is more inclusive and representative of our community.
