Mandatory players win WoW MDI Global Finals 2024
After duking it out in various dungeons and against time, Mandatory players Crims, Skylarked, Maystine, Stove, and Moadmoad came out on top as the WoW MDI 2024 champions! The team bested Echo 3-2 in the final and earned the lion's share of the $200,000 prize pool.
Between March 8 and March 11, the top eight WoW MDI teams ran dungeons and took down bosses as quickly as possible. In addition to Mandatory and Echo, the other teams that earned a place in this tournament included Perplexed, Bald Bandits, Eclipse, Last Hope, Dawgs, and Legendary.
WoW MDI Global Finals 2024 results
In the first round, Mandatory won against Last Hope 2-0 and advanced to the quarterfinals where they faced Perplexed and went 2-0 again. When the team faced Echo in the semifinal, they won against them 2-1. However, Echo didn't give up as they climbed their way back to the top for a revenge match in the grand final.
When it came down to this match, it went to an intense Game 5 in Black Rook Hold. Both teams were in a neck-and-neck race, but Mandatory's use of Bloodlust and control over cooldowns helped them defeat Dantalionax first. This earned them a final score of 3-2 and the WoW MDI 2024 victory!
Mandatory celebrates WoW esports victory
After earning the gold, a few Mandatory players chatted with the WoW MDI 2024 casters. During this post-match interview, one of the players revealed that he will be getting pizza and soft drinks to celebrate. Some players also took to social media to talk about their win over Echo.
Moadmoad, for example, wrote on X that he cannot believe that his team won against the legendary Echo. He also acknowledged the very close games and how WoW MDI Global Finals 2024 showcased great competition.
"Competition was at an all time high," he wrote. "Every team was so good!"
WoW AWC and WoW TFG coming soon
With the conclusion of WoW MDI Global Finals 2024 for Dragonflight Season 3, players can now gear up for even more WoW esports action. These tournaments include Season 4 of the WoW Arena World Championship (AWC) and The Great Push (TGP).
In a post on X, Blizzard stated that more information about these upcoming tournaments will be revealed later. The post also noted that Season 4 of WoW AWC and TGP will open in April.
