The XDefiant Y1S0.4 patch notes are here to detail an increase to the speed at which your weapons level up.

The previous XDefiant patch was the "big one." It tweaked a ton of balancing and network issues, including the added movement penalty to jump and crouch spammers. Now, a lesser yet still impactful update is here with the XDefiant Y1S0.4 patch notes.

There are four main categories when it comes to the XDefiant Y1S0.4 patch notes. If you read them in full, you'll see a fifth as Miscellaneous, but all it states is that additional crash fixes were done.

We'll focus on the others, including the huge update to weapon leveling.

Gameplay

  • Sped up the process of unlocking weapon attachments by lowering the amount of XP needed to level up your primary weapon, from 3,500 to 3,000, and your secondary weapon, from 1,500 to 1,000.
    • This change is retroactive, meaning your existing weapon levels will likely be even higher now.

They have put a counterbalance, however. Weapon Mastery camos are now set at a higher level. If you already own the Bronze, Silver, or Gold camo for a weapon, you can keep it without worrying about the level increase.

Netcode

  • Improved how quickly your health reacts when being shot, which should reduce the feeling of being shot behind walls.

Weapons

  • Players wielding the MDR while strutting around in the Firestorm skin were experiencing an abnormal level of recoil, which has been reset to normal recoil.

Factions

  • Restored the decorum of lying down when dead to players who previously remained on their feet after dying while under the influence of Libertad's Medico Supremo ultra.

Overall, this isn't as meaty of a patch as before, but it is still one players can enjoy. You can unlock attachments for your weapons much quicker, but at the expense of the shiny skins. Some of the in-game and Battle Pass skins are better anyways.
