A new ball of energy is joining the Apex Games.
Apex Legends has revealed the abilities of the newest Legend to join the popular battle royale in the launch trailer for Season 19. First shown in the Stories from the Outlands trailer earlier this month, Conduit will bring some new shield-focused abilities to the game.
New Legend Conduit's abilities in the Season 19 trailer
The Season 19: Ignite launch trailer has given some more insight into Conduit’s abilities, though none have been confirmed by Respawn just yet. We have a good idea what these powers will be based on past leaks and rumors.
In the Season 19 launch trailer, Conduit works with Mirage and Gibraltar to come up with her introduction to the Apex Games. She brainstorms a dramatic entrance using a voiceover after a storm, briefly tries a Disney-esque song featuring Revenant, and finally settles for a classic show of her powers during a few different matches in the Apex Games.
As for powers shown in the fight, it’s very clear that Conduit officially works with shields in some way. She powers up Mirage and Gibraltar during a match against Valkyrie, Vantage, and Catalyst. Later, she throws out some blue orbs at more enemies, trapping them for spiders to kill them. This throwable ability seems similar to Ash's snare, though it doesn't hold down enemies and instead slows them down similar to Wattson's fences.
As for her Ultimate, the trailer shows Conduit protecting Gibby and Mirage from Bangalore’s missile Ultimate. This power is also implied to focus on their shields, since they’re surrounded by a blue glow.
Additionally, this entire trailer took place on Storm Point, which basically confirms that the map will return and be updated for Season 19. However, we weren’t shown any details of what changes we might see.
Apex Legends Season 19 gameplay trailer release date
The end of the Ignite trailer confirmed Oct. 26 as the date for the next gameplay trailer. We’ll be able to see what exactly this newest season is bringing to the game as well as more official confirmation about Conduit’s powers.
