Apex Legends x Final Fantasy crossover event is coming this January

Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith are coming to the Outlands.

Apex Legends revealed a collaboration event with Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth in a surprise announcement during the Game Awards on Dec. 7. This arrived alongside a sneak peek into the upcoming FFVII: Rebirth game, which won Most Anticipated Game at the Game Awards.

The trailer featured Horizon, Wraith, and Crypto on Olympus investigating a mysterious blade stuck in the ground. After pulling the sword from the earth, the trailer showed Crypto in a Cloud-inspired skin and he showed off his sword-fighting moves.

When does this Apex x FFVII event start?

The Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth x Apex Legends event will start on Jan. 9. This will closely follow the end of the Uprising Collection Event and will be the final event of Season 19.

What will be in the Apex Legends x Final Fantasy event?

So far, we don't know a lot about the event. All that was revealed in the short trailer was that three Legends will certainly be receiving new skins. Wraith, Horizon, and Crypto were all spotted in the trailer wearing new skins. Crypto will be Cloud while Wraith and Horizon will be Tifa and Aerith respectively.

Additionally, there was a highlight on Crypto weilding Cloud's Buster Sword. Since Crypto's heirloom is already a sword, and there have been other heirloom reskins in the past, we may see a Final Fantasy reskin for Crypto's Biwon Blade heirloom.
