Super League Gaming’s Galentine’s Games returns for its fourth year, this time with a $10,000 prize pool for women’s Valorant squads.

Super League Gaming's Galentine Girls event is returning this year for its fourth iteration, this time with a $10,000 prize pool. The competition will take place in Riot's FPS VALORANT, further building upon the success of events like Game Changers.
The event will feature eight women's teams, including:
- Aimpunch
- Complexity
- Dignitas
- Man I love Fwogs
- Moon Raccoons
- Polaris
- Shopify Rebellion
- Team Serenity
The women's VALORANT scene is a robust one, thanks to the existence of Riot's Game Changers and events like Super League Gaming's Galentine Games. With far more opportunity than other games, VALORANT is quickly becoming a home for rising women's talent that are looking to make a career out of playing games for a living.
Galentines Games actually predates most dedicated women's esports initiatives, including Riot's own. While some women's tournaments do exist and run regularly, far too often their prizing support is lackluster. Super League Gaming's efforts, on the other hand, have awarded $10,000 throughout their whole run.
Galentines Games will be a great chance for teams to prove themselves
The teams invited to Galentines this year are among the rising teams in the women's scene. These aren't Game Changers champions, like G2 or Cloud9's rosters. Rather, these are teams that have impressed in Game Changers' competition but have yet to taste the success of their own. Galentines Games will be an excellent chance to change that, and with a $10,000 prize, definitely, something that's going to go a long way in helping to support the winning teams.
The prize pool for the event is as follows:
- 1st place: $5000
- 2nd place: $2500
- 3rd place: $1500
- 4th place: $1000
Galentine's Games has won inclusivity and diversity awards
Super League Gaming's Galentine Games has been a powerful initiative for diversity and inclusivity, too. The tournament is very specifically for women, female-identifying, and non-binary players. They've done a great job of highlighting the exploits of these hard-working players and have helped women realize their ambitions of playing professionally.
This has been recognized by the industry as well, as they won the Tempest Award for Best Diversity and Inclusion Initiative. Super League Gaming themselves is led by Ann Hand, who was one of the first female CEOs in esports when she helped found the company.
Super League Gaming has made a name for themselves not just through this competition, but also in their youth programs like Riot's City League, Minecraft events, as well as other esports events at Cinemark movie theaters around the United States.
The competition at Galentines Games will kick off on Valentine's Day, February 14, at 6 PM Eastern, 3 PM Pacific. All matches will take place over the course of that evening. You can tune in on Super League Gaming's Twitch channel.
