The 13.6 B-patch for Set 8.5 dropped yesterday. With its release, the power of carries shifted in strength. This made way for the Twisted Fate carry composition to become one of the strongest in the game. Here's how to play it.
Twisted Fate carry composition
Here is your ideal level 8 board. The strongest version of the Twisted Fate carry composition currently revolves around playing 4 Ox Force, 4 Spellslinger, and 2 Duelist. This gives your team an amazing frontline and backline to support the carry of Twisted Fate. If you don't hit Janna on 8, Sona is your best unit that slots in, giving your team 4 Spellslinger and 2 Heart.
At level 9, you can take out Ekko for Syndra and add in Fiddlesticks for the frontline. If your frontline is too weak or Aegis is strong in the lobby, then consider leaving Fiddlesticks on the bench while keeping Ekko on the board. If you need the immediate crowd control, then consider leaving Syndra on the bench while keeping Ekko on the board.

Primary carry: Twisted Fate (items listed in order of priority)
- Statikk Shiv
- Guinsoo's Rageblade
- Giant Slayer, Jeweled Gauntlet, Hand of Justice, Guardbreaker, Gunblade
Secondary carry: Neeko (items listed in order of priority)
- Jeweled Gauntlet
- Spear of Shojin
- Gunblade, Hand of Justice, Guardbreaker, Giant Slayer
Primary tank: Annie (item priority dependent on lobby and items left over)
- Sunfire
- Titan's Resolve

Always look to have three items stacked on Twisted Fate before putting items on other units if possible. Mana-generation items on Twisted Fate aren't very good because he does not gain mana during his ability cast. If you find yourself with tank items after itemizing Twisted Fate, then stack them on Annie. If you find yourself with more carry items after itemizing Twisted Fate, then stack them on Neeko.
Be sure to start Tear, Rod, or Bow if you are able to on the opening carousel.

Early game
In the early game, two-star units that can hold the items you are able to make will always be your best bet for a win streak. Your strongest carry can hold Twisted Fate items and your strongest tank, if it is not Annie, can hold Annie items.

Mid-game
Here are a few examples of mid-game boards you can play on Stage 3 before reaching the late game. Your strongest carries can hold a mix of Twisted Fate and Neeko's items so long as they aren't on the final board.
Example level 6 boards:
At level 7, you can fill in the missing trait or add in a strong unit that benefits your board. If you aren't healthy enough to go 8, then consider rolling for the late-game board on level 7 and play the units that you are able to hit.
Positioning tips
- Keep your carries on the same side as your Statikk Shiv holder so that they can benefit from the Magic Resist reduction.
- Put Annie and Ekko on the side of your carries as they are the most durable members of your frontline.
- Beware of clumping in the late game versus enemy AoE (Neeko, Fiddlesticks, Urgot, Janna). It is okay to split your carries towards the later stages of the game when enemies have AoE that can threaten your backline.
- Do not greed Janna positioning versus enemy AoE.
- Neeko likes to be on the same side as the enemy carry. In a Neeko mirror matchup, if your Neeko is stronger or their frontline is less durable, being on the same side is strong.
- Bring Alistar or Fiora to the backline for clumping versus Hacker. Twisted Fate will eventually aggro onto the hacker and focus fire them down.
- Twisted Fate can be on either side as long as he has a durable frontline in front of him.
