Just two points separate Alliance and Gaimin Gladiators.

Alliance and Gaimin Gladiators have set up a dramatic race for the ALGS Pro League title, with just two points separating the two teams ahead of Regional Finals.

Alliance had already booked their spot at the Split 2 Playoffs heading into the days action, but did not let their level slip as a result.

This final regular season gameday in EMEA has eliminated 10 teams, with the top 20 heading to next Sundays Regional Finals. The winner of that Match Point lobby will automatically qualify for LAN. Seven other teams from EMEA will join them in Mannheim Germany.

Alliance have small advantage ahead of ALGS Regional Finals

Alliance feel like they are back to their dominant best in EMEA. Their strong success all split long has been impressive when you factor in the amount of experimentation that they have shown with Legends all season. Using the likes of Alter and Pathfinder, way before most other teams broke away from the hard Bloodhound, Bangalore and Controller-class Legend meta.

Their performance this split has been so strong that even with the days games to play, their spot at the Split 2 Playoffs was already secured. FaZe Clan, the only other team qualified before today, had played one extra gameday.

Had things gone their way today, the title could have been almost secured. Alliance moved well ahead of FaZe Clan with their top two finish today. However, Gaimin Gladiators being the team to take first has seen them also pass FaZe Clan. Had GG finished in say, mid table today, Alliance would be almost certain of taking the top spot when the Regional Finals concludes.

Instead, the Regional Finals will be a dramatic showdown between these two teams for first. With the amount of games uncertain, this will be a really difficult title race for both teams. Alliance will need to simply finish ahead of Gaimin Gladiators to win the title, while Gaimin Gladiators will need to earn three points more than Alliance in the final day of the ALGS.

Final day top five:

  • Gaimin Gladiators - 72
  • Alliance - 65
  • DMS - 51
  • Players - 44
  • FA Kids - 39

Ninjas in Pyjamas face tough battle for LAN spot

Away from Alliance and Gaimin Gladiators, Ninjas in Pyjamas also face a tough battle in the ALGS Regional Finals. The fan favourites needed a big performance today to stay in touch with the LAN cut off, but struggled all day. They only scraped 18th today, and probably need to win the Regional Finals if they want to make LAN.

It has been a surprising struggle for Ninjas in Pyjamas in recent weeks having at one point seemed nearly unstoppable with a first and second two game days in a row.

Now, the pressure is on for this fan favourite team to book their spot in Mannheim Germany.
