FNATIC YukaF gave his opinion on the ALGS changes, APAC-N, and unbalanced game mechanics in an interview at the ALGS Year 5 Championship.
FNATIC's Yuga "YukaF" Horie finds the new ALGS changes difficult, but believes in the strength of APAC-N. He also shared what he loves about Apex Legends, and even his favorite legends! Here's what he said in an exclusive interview at the ALGS Year 5 Championship.
YukaF on competition: "It's about perfecting."
When prompted about his thoughts on the APAC-N playstyle, he believes that the region is great at learning.
"In the past, I think we were really good at playing around the ring. Another strength we have is that we are good at taking good features and traits from other regions," YukaF said. "In terms of collecting the good parts of different regions, we're at, like 70% right now."

APAC-N teams still need that little push to integrate these learnings fully, he says. "It's about perfecting our learnings from each region. That's kind of what we're working on — what we need to do. Perfecting it to go from 70% to 100%."
Considered as a dominant mechanical player, YukaF also had some thoughts on who he thinks are near his level of prowess. "I think I'm close to RIDDLE's Meltstera [Takamasa Kawai] and VK Gaming's QQ [Chen Yin-hong]."
Outside of ALGS events, YukaF also participates in third-party tournaments, including various club-organized cups and those involving VTubers. "I'm very glad to be a part of these popular tournaments. I'm happy to compete, regardless of the stakes," said YukaF.

Despite their favorable results in the Group Stage of ALGS Year 5 Championship, YukaF still thinks that FNATIC "needs more improvement" if they want to win it all.

He also hopes that more fans show up this year to support them, especially since the ALGS is happening in his home court in Japan.
YukaF on why he loves Apex Legends
The Japanese player shared why he loves Apex Legends. He answered that nobody would be surprised by:
"I like speed; Apex is really quick, and the feeling of controlling my character is nice," said the mechanically-inclined player.

Regarding ALGS' competitive changes, he shared Phillip "ImperialHal" Dosen's opinion that competitive Apex Legends has gotten harder.
"For the audience, I think the POI draft and Legend Bans are a good idea, but for players, it's become a bit difficult. Now, we have to practice landing of different POIs, and it's hard to come up with a better Legend composition with the bans in place."
We also asked him about his favorite Legends. YukaF's picks are Bangalore overall, and Alter among the newer releases.
As for game balance, YukaF gave an enthusiastic "Yes!" when asked about whether he thought marksman weapons were overpowered. Amps, on the other hand, invoked a slightly less energetic response: "It needs a little bit of adjusting," YukaF said.
YukaF continues his ALGS Year 5 Champs journey. Despite the difficulties that he mentioned, FNATIC had a good performance during the group stage. Thanks to this, they secured a ticket to the upper bracket and did not have to participate in the event's first elimination match.
