FURIA are using an unhinged method to level up their evo

FURIA’s evo strategy certainly has people talking.

In BLGS scrims, FURIA have deployed an outrageous strategy in order to level up their evo shields from Blue, to Red. With opponents, viewers and NiceWigg all sharing a collective disbelief, FURIA potentially changed the ALGS forever with their antics during scrims on Wednesday, October 16.

What on earth are FURIA doing to get more evo?

Essentially, FURIA are taking full advantage of the ability to get +100 evo points every time you revive a teammate. In scrims, especially in Basin where this game ended, there are lots of teams in nearby buildings with you able to safely use Newcastle to drag the knocked player away from windows.

Additionally, by dropping Keon's Shield Core, FURIA aren't even using any heals up. This cost one Med Kit at the end of the process, and nothing more. However, there was a penalty for FURIA after deploying this evo strategy. Every time you get knocked in Apex Legends, the time you have to be revived reduces. This reduces all the way down to 13 seconds.

For FURIA, this is a trade-off for getting your entire team to Red level evo shields. With Newcastle on the team, Keon could be grabbed pretty quickly and revived if needed.

Can I use this strategy myself?

You might be tempted to deploy this strategy for yourselves in your next ranked game. However, it is safe to say it will not be effective. In the ALGS and scrims, so many teams are in one zone. If a fight breaks out, it will be third partied, fourth partied, and probably fifth partied too. That means that when teams like NRG knocked Keon, they didn't immediately push FURIA to take their position and finish them off.

But, in your average ranked game, any team that knocks an opponent will only have one thing on their mind. Push, push, push. As a result, trying to use the FURIA evo strategy will probably get you killed. You'll get more evo just running around collecting Harvesters, scanning Beacons and Ring Consoles as well as dealing damage to opponents.
