One last ride for one of the most iconic Apex competitors of all time.
NRG star iiTzTimmy has announced the ALGS Midseason Playoffs at the Esports World Cup will be his last Apex competition. He announced this on X, formerly Twitter, on the eve of NRG beginning their run in the competition.
The player is one of the most iconic names in Apex Legends Esports, competing on some of the biggest teams including 100 Thieves, Moist Esports and now NRG. His absence from competition will be sorely felt, with fans adoring his flamboyant style.
However, iiTzTimmy has often found success elsewhere with a very popular streaming career. He has been a pioneer of all kinds of content, including “Rookie to Pred” Challenges and also hosting Apex Legends events with Red Bull.

Speaking in his announcement on social media Timmy explained why he is moving away from competition. He revealed that he has felt unable to fully commit to competitive Apex Legends, only giving 90%. This includes streaming, and his personal life.
Timmy added that if he can't put all his energy into competition it is unfair on his organization and teammates. As a result, he has decided to retire from competing in Apex Legends. The ALGS Midseason Playoffs will be his last event with NRG looking for a new IGL ahead of Pro League Split 2 in August.
Timmy has found a lot of success as a competitor. He helped guide free-agent Dojo to 4th at the 2023 ALGS Championship in Birmingham, and also finding respectable top ten finishes at both ALGS Playoffs in Year 4.
His absence will be a big one for the ALGS scene, and the avaliable spot on NRG could well trigger yet another regional rostermania when the ALGS Midseason Playoffs concludes this weekend.
