A huge return for Mande could be on the horizon.

Danish Apex streamer Mande has revealed that he is considering returning to competing in the ALGS. The streamer, who has had a decorated competitive career, retired from competition in early 2024 after finishing Year 4's first Pro League split with team 40% Worse.

However, he revealed on stream today that he is considering a comeback to competition. There is a lot of excitement around the ALGS ahead of a much anticipated return to Sapporo for the Year 5, and Year 6 ALGS Championship.

Here's the details.

Mande could return to ALGS competition with Gnaske and K4shera

Mande revealed that his ALGS return could come alongside veteran duo Gnaske and K4shera. The pair, who nearly pulled off an incredible bounceback in Split 1 are seeking a third ahead of a last-ditch run at qualifying for Sapporo.

According to his stream today, Mande is going to be scrimming with the pair with a view to returning to competition in Split 2. The second split of the Pro League returns at the end of August, and runs through until mid-October.

The one-time ALGS Championship winner admitted that if he returns he will have to "fully commit", showing that he is aware of the high level of competition. This would be a big change from his approach to Apex over the last year.

Mande's decision to retire was driven by a lack of enjoyment for both the meta and facing "aim assist" on a regular basis. There has been a huge shift in metas over this period, with Respawn also taking steps to find a better balance between inputs. Mandes retirement came during the "can't see sh*t" meta that was particularly unenjoyable to play.

Hugely exciting return for the EMEA region

In his prime, competing with North and SCARZ Mande was one of the best players in the EMEA region. SCARZ won the 2021 ALGS EMEA ALGS Championship, and were consistently one of the regions leading teams.

After departing RPR and Taisheen Mande continued to show his quality with Alliance, subbing in on several occasions. Most notably was his stepping in after visa issues ruled Effect out of the Year 3 Split 1 ALGS Playoffs in London, Mande helped guide the team to a top five finish. He also stepped in again for part of the subsequent ALGS Year 3 Championship.

His presence, an eclectic mix of infectious personality and raw mechanical talent has been sorely missed since his retirement. However, we may get to see Mande compete at the highest levels once more.
