What do we know about the BLGS?

The BLGS is a brand new EA ran tournament series, taking place during the gap between the ALGS Split 2 Playoffs in August and the ALGS Championship in January. The tournament series is being fronted-up by Greek and NiceWigg, stars of the ALGS B Stream. The BLGS name is a play on the crossover between the B-Stream and the ALGS.

Excitingly, the BLGS tournaments aren’t just for pro players. Anyone who plays Apex Legends can enter these events and try and win a share of the $400,000 total prize pool. That means if you can find two friends to play with, glory could be yours.

BLGS format and regions

We’re now have official information on how BLGS will run. This will follow the same and format schedule as Challenger Circuit events. These kick off on Saturday at Midday (BST, PST, JST, AST) and run thoughout the weekend. The finals take place on Tuesday evening in America, EMEA and APAC North. This is a slight change from the usual Monday night slot that Challenger Circuit followed.

Teams will be fighting across the four qualifiers for a spot in the BLGS Regional Finals. Teams can qualify either by winning a BLGS Qualifier or by being in the top 16 overall teams across the four qualifiers.

There is one difference between the Challenger Circuit and the BLGS however. These tournaments will feature all levels of players. From rookies, all the way up to the likes of Team Falcons, Alliance and FNATIC. In that sense these tournaments will more closely replicate the old ‘Winter, Summer and Autumn Circuit’ events that preceded the introduction of the Pro League.

The BLGS will run in four regions:

  • Americas
  • EMEA
  • APAC North
  • APAC South

South America, which did not get a Pro League in ALGS Year 4, does not get a BLGS circuit either. However, they do not miss out on the fun. They will join with North America to form an Americas region.

BLGS Qualifiers Schedule

There will be four BLGS events, all taking place over a weekend. The dates are as follows:

  • Qualifier 1 - October 19-21
  • Qualifier 2 - October 26-28
  • Qualifier 3 - November 23-25
  • Qualifier 4 - December 7-9

There will then be a Regional Finals event for the top 20 teams (4 winners, and top 16 on points) to take place later in December.

The BLGS will feature every single Apex Legends map across the four qualifiers. This will be the first time we have seen E-District, Olympus and Broken Moon in an official EA ran event.

The map schedule is as follows:

  • BLGS Qualifier #1 = World's Edge, Storm Point, E-District, Kings Canyon
  • BLGS Qualifier #2 = World's Edge, Storm Point, E-District, Olympus
  • BLGS Qualifier #3 = World's Edge, Storm Point, E-District, Broken Moon
  • BLGS Qualifier #4 = World's Edge, Storm Point, E-District, Broken Moon

How to enter the BLGS

Entering the BLGS is simple. Just head to the BLGS page on Battlefy, create an account then select which event you want to register for. You’ll create a team, and can invite your friends to join after that. They will also need Battlefy accounts in order to join the team.
