LGD Gaming part ways with Emo after two tournaments

LGD Gaming adjusts its roster right before the ESL One Birmingham qualifiers begin.

The Dota 2 community no longer sees a "roster shuffle" season as teams continue to adjust and reformat their lineups by the day. One of the latest roster change is the departure of Zhou "Emo" Yi  from LGD Gaming. The prominent organization then welcomed Gao "Setsu" Zhenxiong as replacement in the midlane.

Here is LGD Gaming's Dota 2 roster:

  • Guo "shiro" Xuanang
  • Zhou "Emo" Yi
  • Li "niu" Kongbo
  • Xiong "Pyw" Jiahan
  • Zhang "y`" Yiping

Emo leaves LGD Gaming after two months

Legendary mid player, Emo, had joined the LGD force in late November last year, replacing Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang in the midlane. However, he only happened to play one tournament and a qualifier with LGD. Their first run together was the ESL One Kuala Lumpur which ended with a 9th-10th placement. Emo's last run with LGD saw a disappointing third-place finish in the DreamLeague Season 22 China Closed Qualifier.

Ahead of the ESL One Birmingham Closed Qualifier, LGD shakes up its roster and Emo was transferred to the inactive bench. The notoriously popular player, who sent the iconic question mark during the One Esports Singapore Major, will now search for other opportunities.

Right after the departure of Emo, LGD Gaming announced that Setsu will join the lineup. Setsu had been inactive since May 2023, when he last played for Vici Gaming. This midlaner has a decent record with his greatest achievement being a top 8 placement at The International 9, a feat he achieved with Royal Never Give Up.

Setsu will be warming up his mouse and keyboard once again as he gears up for the ESL One Birmingham qualifier and it will be one tough challenge. LGD Gaming will play in the Closed Qualifier among powerhouses like G2.iG and Azure Ray. Roughly, only one team from the China region will advance to ESL One Birmingham.
