Hearthstone 23.4 Patch notes: Throne of the Tides Mini-Set and Diablo coming back to Battlegrounds

Hearthstone 23.4 Patch notes are here. On top of The Throne of the Tides Mini-Set, Diablo is coming back to Battlegrounds!

Hearthstone released the official 23.4 patch notes, an update that brings a lot more than just the Throne of the Tides Mini-Set. Patch 23.4 will have a huge impact on Battlegrounds, Mercenaries, and even Hearthstone solo content. Dive in with us while we explore in detail the new constructed and Battlegrounds changes of Hearthstone's latest update.

Throne of the Tides Mini-Set Launches June 1st!

The fight for the Throne of the Tides begins tomorrow with Hearthstone Patch 23.4. The Hearthstone Mini-Set will tell the battle between Neptulon and Ozumat. The Hearthstone Mini-Set coming with Patch 23.4 contains 35 all-new cards to add to your collection.

Players can get them in Voyage to the Sunken City packs or buy the complete bundle for 2000 Gold or $14.99. Once again, Blizzard offers an all-golden version for $69.99 for the whales.

The Throne of the Tides Mini-Set includes 4 Legendary Cards (x1), 1 Epic Card (x2), 14 Rare Cards (x2), and 16 Common Cards (x2). If you missed the reveals, check the official Hearthstone card library.

Diablo Returns to Hearthstone Battlegrounds with Pach 23.4

It’s time to face Diablo once again! The controversial Hearthstone Battlegrounds Hero will make a comeback with Patch 23.4. For the ones who haven’t yet had the Diablo experience in Battlegrounds, this Hero changes the way the lobby plays.

Every 4 Turns, ALL the enemies will fight your Warband, joined by the Lord of Terror. The Diablo player will receive damage from only one enemy but will be able to inflict damage to the whole lobby. Players who kill the Lord of Terror will get a special loot, but if he survives, the Loot will go to the Diablo player.

Many Battelgrounds pro-players are complaining in advance about Diablo's inclusion. However, there is no need to panic, the event that starts on June 1st will only last for a week. Furthermore, several Diablo treasures have been balanced to be in line with the current meta. You can check the full details in the official blog post.

A New Hero and Minion coming to Battlegrounds

Ozumat New Hero

On top of Diablo’s return, Battlegrounds players will be able to pick a brand-new Hero after Hearthstone Patch 23.4. Ozumat will release to the general public on June 15th. However, players with Battlegoruns Perks will have early access to it as soon as the Hearthstone 23.4 patch launches.

The question that arises once again is not only if this Hero is strong or competitive, but how many Heroes are too much? After buddies left, Battlegrounds players started complaining about the great amount of Heroes that aren’t competitive.

On the other side, the breach between Tier 1 Heroes and Tier 4 Heros is only 1 position on average, according to HSReplay’s stats. Still, the question of how many Heroes are too much persists. Will we ever see a Hero rotation in Battlegrounds? Are paid cosmetics something that plays a role in that?

New Bubblette minion

With everything happening underwater, it was only natural for a Bubblette to show up eventually. Bubblette brings a unique mechanic to Hearthstone Battlegrounds in this Patch 23.4. This Tier 1 minion is super strong in stats having 5 health. However, it dies after receiving exactly one damage.

More coming with the Hearthstone 23.4 Patch

The 23.4 Hearthstone Patch also brings an Arena rotation, new Mercenaries content, and a brand new PvE Adventure Featuring Ambassador Faelin. We have dedicated a specific article to that content, and I encourage you to check it. You can get free packs and the free Tyreale Mercenary.

One final comment about Hearthstone 23.4 patch notes. As happened in the previous update, the Team is introducing a new feature: Overcapped Decks! This feature seems useful for every deck builder out there.

Overcapped Decks feature allows players to put up to 50 cards into a deck and then choose which ones make the cut. Don’t worry, you won’t be facing 50 card decks in ladder, decks will be invalid until they have 30 cards.
