Blizzard has revealed the full details of its Overwatch 2 Mythic Shop! This in-game shop is a new way for players to select which skins they wish to add to their collection. Read on for everything to know about the Overwatch 2 Mythic Shop, including how it works, how to earn Mythic Prisms, and how to level up your favorite hero skins!
How the Overwatch 2 Mythic Shop works
In Overwatch 2, the Mythic Shop is where you can get current and past mythic skins. These skins require an in-game currency known as Mythic Prisms. To get Mythic Prisms, you must progress through the paid version of the seasonal Overwatch 2 Battle Pass. Each Battle Pass has enough Mythic Prisms to fully unlock one mythic skin.
How to unlock mythic skins in Overwatch 2
You can use your Mythic Prisms to unlock the latest mythic skin in Overwatch 2. The total cost is 80 Mythic Prisms. Another option is to use Mythic Prisms to redeem past mythic skins. For example, the first level of the mythic Genji skin costs 50 Mythic Prisms. The next levels cost 10 Mythic Prisms each. You need 80 Mythic Prisms to fully unlock every customization for Cyber Demon Genji.
According to Blizzard, the featured mythic skin of the season is only available throughout its own season. If you miss out on the Mercy mythic skin during Overwatch 2 Season 10, for example, then you must wait two more seasons for it to enter the Mythic Shop.
How to get Mythic Prisms in Overwatch 2
To obtain Mythic Prisms, you must first get the paid version of the seasonal Overwatch 2 Battle Pass. This costs 1,000 Overwatch Coins or about $9.99 USD each season. Next, you must level up the Battle Pass to collect the Mythic Prisms available at different tiers.
For example, in Overwatch 2 Season 10, you can get eight Mythic Prisms for every 10 tiers until tier 78 of the Battle Pass. This means at tier 48, you can unlock the base level of a mythic skin for 50 Mythic Prisms. After tier 78, you can unlock the rest of the mythic skin's customization levels.
Overwatch 2 Mythic Prisms cost
The paid version of each season's Overwatch 2 Battle Pass, which lets you earn Mythic Prisms, requires 1,000 Overwatch Coins. You can also buy Mythic Prisms in Overwatch 2 in bundles of 10, 50 or 100. The bundle of 50 Mythic Prisms has a 25% bonus while the bundle of 100 Mythic Prisms has a 33% bonus.
To purchase Mythic Prisms, click on the icon for it located near the top-right area of the in-game shop. This is where you can also see the balance of your other Overwatch 2 currencies.
