The XDefiant Year 1 Roadmap is here, detailing four seasons worth of upcoming content, including new factions arriving with each one.

The XDefiant release date is slated for May 21. At launch, however, you shouldn't expect the game's first season. Instead, a Preseason period takes place for six weeks before shifting into Season 1. With the XDefiant Year 1 Roadmap, we know a bit of what to expect when Season 1 hits.

In fact, we can expect a handful of details for the game's first year, hence it being called the XDefiant Year 1 Roadmap. Exact details are a scarce, but we know for sure of new factions and that each season gets new weapons, maps, and a Battle Pass.

Updates for the length of the XDefiant Year 1 Roadmap

A reminder that each Faction in XDefiant, included those listed in the Year 1 Roadmap, come from somewhere in an already existing universe. It ties together various Ubisoft titles, such as Far Cry, and Tom Clancy titles like Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell.

With four new factions, 12 new weapons, and 12 new maps, expect some guns and locations from the greater Ubisoft universe. As well, expect the following for the entirety of the XDefiant Year 1 Roadmap as an ongoing effort:

  • Modes: New arena and progression modes
  • Competitive: Ranked mode and private matches
  • Player Protection: Ongoing work to keep the competition fair
  • Comfort Features: Welcome list for beginners and practice zones
