Vitality and G2 make it to IEM Cologne 2023 Playoffs

There are still two spots left in the IEM Cologne 2023 Playoffs.

Vitality and G2 Esports (G2) won their second match in the IEM Cologne 2023 Group Stage. This advanced them to the next stage alongside teams Heroic and ENCE. Meanwhile, Monte, Fnatic, OG, and Ninjas in Pyjamas said goodbye to Cologne as they were eliminated.

This means there are still two spots left in the IEM Cologne 2023 Playoffs. While Group A only has two teams fighting for one place, Group B features four squads battling for the final seat.

Vitality decimates MOUZ

Vitality faced MOUZ in the first match of the day. The latter team advanced from the Play-Ins stage and went undefeated in the tournament. However, Vitality didn't take this to heart and decimated them with a 2-0.

On Inferno, veteran Emil "Magisk" Reif put a massive 1.99 rating to lead with a 16-4 score. On Mirage, Vitality kept the momentum going and had a great performance from Lotan "Spinx" Giladi, who closed the map and the match with a score of 16-5.

G2 gets room to breathe with qualification

G2 arrived at IEM Cologne 2023 with some pressure on their shoulders. The team had a horrible end of the semester and did not make changes. G2 didn't start the season well as they were eliminated in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.

However, the Group Stage of the tournament gave the team some room to breathe. They qualified without any scares. Things can get even better for them if they defeat Vitality and earn a spot in the semifinals at IEM Cologne 2023.

G2 didn't get easy matchups to qualify for the Playoffs. In their opening match, they faced worthy Astralis players. Despite this, Nikola "NiKo" Kovač's team held the pressure and won that game. In today's match, they defeated FaZe 2-0.

IEM Cologne 2023 Group Stage last matches
