The best upcoming League of Legends talent will get to showcase their skills at the World Finals in London.
Red Bull Solo Q - the official League of Legends 1v1 tournament will be returning for another season in 2023. Along with this announcement comes the location of the World Finals, which will be held in the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London.
The Red Bull Solo Q event is designed to discover some of the best upcoming League of Legends talent from across the globe and showcase them on a big stage for teams to scout. Given that the 2023 Mid-Season Invitational will be in London this year, there is no better opportunity for aspiring players to impress.
What is the Red Bull Solo Q 1v1 format?
The best League of Legends amateurs in the world will compete in national events across the globe. Players that perform well in their regional events will book their tickets to the World Final. Europe, North America, MEWA, and South America will host regional qualifiers for the World Final.
The format is very simple, players will do battle in a 1v1 environment that is different from traditional League of Legends. Players can score victory by achieving one of the following:
- Securing first blood
- Taking their opponent's tower
- Being the first to 100 minion takedowns.
When does the Red Bull Solo Q World Final take place?
The Solo Q World Final will commence on May 18th-19th in the Red Bull Gaming Sphere in London. This state-of-the-art facility has played host to many professional boot camps and tournaments. Recently, esports powerhouse Cloud9 used the Gaming Sphere to prepare for the Red Bull Home Ground Valorant event in Manchester.
Who won last year's event?
The 2022 1v1 event in New York was a huge success for the tournament organizer and a big reason why the tournament is returning in 2023. In the 2022 World Finals, it was an all-Greek battle between Ahilleas ‘SneakyLemon’ Natsis and Arnas "arnax" Stepanauskas. It was a close content but in the end, SneakyLemon came out victorious.
“Having people in the background cheering for me, waving at me and applauding me was the highlight of the entire tournament,” said SneakyLemon following his win. "Winning feels amazing, it's the best feeling. I can walk down the street and know that I'm the winner!"
