Loda releases his song ‘Hero’ as a tribute to Dota 2

TI3 champion and Alliance CEO, Loda released a song called ‘Hero’ to celebrate 20 years of his life in Dota 2.

Jonathan "Loda" Berg has dropped a hot new single 'Hero'. The International 2013 (TI3) champion and Alliance CEO showcases his musical side that many might not know about. Through a country-esque song, Loda sings an ode to his 20-year life of Dota 2.

Loda tells a tale of a creep through his song

'Hero' depicts a Radiant creep's perspective as it wanders the grizzly battlefield of Dota 2. In the music video, the creep traverses through numerous terrains across multiple seasons. This seems to signify the many different map changes and cosmetics added to the game since its inception.

Throughout its journey, the creep encounters many battles between the heroes of Dota. With no knowledge of its purpose, it heads "into the unknown" to "cover the strong"- the heroes. As it travels, it witnesses its brethren slain by the very beings it protects. Yet, it forges on one dimensionally and reaches the enemy bastion, the tower, only to ultimately fall to its demise.

However, it doesn't end there. The creep sees a ray of light and walks toward it. Later, it finds itself back to where it belongs; the barracks. Everything then starts anew and the creep continues to wander in an endless cycle, brutalized over and over again. And hence, such is the life of a creep that we Dota players take highly for granted.

At what seems to be the end of a hellish voyage, the creep passes by a set of statues. These statues were of the heroes Alliance used in their final match against Natus Vincere that won TI3. Truly, a heartfelt way to end the song.

Hero is not Loda's first rodeo

This is not Loda's first time dabbling in music. Prior to his TI3 championship, Loda released a demo of a song that he never quite finished titled "Soon 25". Perhaps it was his dedication to win TI3 that steered him away from completing the project. But maybe one day this song, like 'Hero', will come to full fruition. One thing's for sure, we now know how hard he carries his vocal ranges.
